A global portrait of people, stories, and wine. In 2026, the project returns for its most ambitious edition yet.

The Project That Became
a Global Phenomenon

Created by photographer and visual artist Marcos Alberti, The Wine Project began with a simple experiment: four portraits of each participant — one sober, and one after each glass of wine. The result turned into an international sensation.

The project reached over 1 billion views, was featured in major global media outlets, and sparked exhibitions around the world. Beyond the smiles, it revealed something universal: how wine opens people, stories, and emotions.

A New Chapter —
The NYC Edition

In 2023, The Wine Project returned in a special edition photographed in New York City, hosted at Restaurant Iris with the artistic and wine direction of Amy Racine, one of the most influential sommeliers in the United States.

The session brought together icons of the culinary scene — including Jean-Georges, Shenarri Freeman, and other celebrated names — sponsored by Libbey Glassware.

The New York edition became a celebration of culture, gastronomy, personality, and the genuine connections that unfold with each glass

In 2026, the project expands like never before

The Wine Project 2026 aims to deepen its mission: To portray people as they are — open, real, spontaneous. Each glass reveals new layers, new emotions, new stories. The next editions continue this global documentary about identity, vulnerability, and human connection.

Las Vegas, Austin, and Miami will host the next chapters of The Wine Project — capturing diversity, authenticity, and the emotional transformation that has defined the project from the beginning.
